SUSTAINABLE HUMAN SETTLEMENT
As one of IBC's permanent projects, the Sustainable Human Settlement, or Intentional Community, can be defined as a niche of grassroots innovation, formed by groups of people from civil society who have dedicated themselves to transforming their daily practices towards sustainability ecological, social and cultural.
The community occupies 1/4 of the 120 hectares of the total area belonging to the IBC, in an area of savannah undergoing regeneration.
There are 48 crystals (individual spaces) in a hexagonal shape. 19 crystals already have consolidated occupancy and vary between 2.8 thousand and 5 thousand m2.
The current population is around 40 inhabitants.
Each resident member has the right to use Cristal for housing and bioconstruction with socio-environmental premises based on the Statute and Term of Use .
